Ааа, какой сайт я нашла нежданно-негаданно!
Scottish Country Dancing Dictionary - http://www.scottish-country-dancing-dictionary.com/

PRINCE CHARLES OF EDINBURGH

Вот сдам экзамен - разберем его ;)

Le Moulin Rouge

96

All end with two Short Threes, turning to face each other
on the second Three.
This movement is repeated in the same direction another
three times to complete the four sides of a square.
At the same time the gents do a similar Side Step and
Threes movement, but in the shape of a diamond. Each
gent side steps to right from his position to the centre of
the side of the square on his right, and so on until he
returns to his original position.
140 The Complete Guide to Irish Dance Frank Whelan
(H) Arches
The gent now takes inside hands with partners, raises
right hand to form arch and, passing the partner on left
under the arch, he also passes under it.
He now raises his left hand and passes the right-hand
partner under the arch, again passing under it himself.
He repeats the first arch and all fall back into place, but
continue to hold hands.
(I) Pass Through
Trios advance and retire with the Promenade Step.
All release hands, advance again, pass through, right arm
to right arm, and face a new trio to recommence dance.

Ca' The Yowes To The Knowes
(Second Version)
Robert BURNS
1794

Chorus.-Ca'the yowes to the knowes,
Ca' them where the heather grows,
Ca' them where the burnie rowes,
My bonie Dearie.

Hark the mavis' e'ening sang,
Sounding Clouden's woods amang;
Then a-faulding let us gang,
My bonie Dearie.
Ca' the yowes, &c.

We'll gae down by Clouden side,
Thro' the hazels, spreading wide,
O'er the waves that sweetly glide,
To the moon sae clearly.
Ca' the yowes, &c.

Yonder Clouden's silent towers,^1
Where, at moonshine's midnight hours,
O'er the dewy-bending flowers,
Fairies dance sae cheery.
Ca' the yowes, &c.

Ghaist nor bogle shalt thou fear,
Thou'rt to Love and Heav'n sae dear,
Nocht of ill may come thee near;
My bonie Dearie.
Ca' the yowes, &c.

Fair and lovely as thou art,
Thou hast stown my very heart;
I can die-but canna part,
My bonie Dearie.
Ca' the yowes, &c.

Burns described this as, ‘a beautiful song... in the true old Scotch taste’. He sent it to James Johnson for inclusion in the Scots Musical Museum, but in a letter to George Thomson in September 1794, Burns noted that he had taken the original and had added some stanzas to the song while mending other parts.
Burns originally heard the song sung by John Clunie (1757-1819), a schoolmaster and precentor at Markinch.
The alteration and improvement of the original demonstrates Burns’s ability as a preserver and restorer of traditional Scottish ballads.

The Cardin' O't, the Spinnin' O't
This is a song by Robert Burns. It was written in 1796

The cardin' o't, the spinnin' o't,
The warpin' o't, the winnin' o't;
When ilka ell cost me a groat,
The tailor staw the lynin' o't.

I coft a stane o' haslock woo',
To mak a wab to Johnie o't ;
For Johnie is my only jo,
I loe him best of onie yet.

For tho' his locks be lyart grey,
And tho' his brow be beld aboon,
Yet I hae seen him on a day,
The pride of a' the parishen.

The cardin' o't, the spinnin' o't,
The warpin' o't, the winnin' o't ;
When ilka ell cost me a groat,
The tailor staw the lynin' o't.

More about this song
'The Cardin O't' was first published in Johnson's Scots Musical Museum in 1796. In place of a signature the song was assigned the letter 'Z' which denoted a traditional song which Burns had collected and then significantly altered.
The song considers love that endures time and change, and in this respect it conveys similar sentiments to 'John Anderson My Jo'.
