Dear friends, dear dancers, it is with pleasure that we announce the next event organized by the NIB: a weekend with Country, Highland and Grand Ball.

Bologna, Italy - December 18th-20th, 2015.

As has become tradition, the Ball will be located in the beautiful Hotel I Portici, via indipendenza 69.
The hotel is just 500 meters from the train station and well connected to the Airport.

BRIDGE OF ATHLONE (R48)

1. All dance the rising step twice, once with the right foot and once with the left. Advance and retire once

(dance the promenade step in twice and out twice). All dance the rising step twice.

2. Advance and pass through. Repeat section 1. Advance and pass through again.

3. Couple one give right hand to each other and sidestep down the centre of the two lines and then

sidestep back to their place.

4. The boy and girl of couple one then turn outwards and march down along outside their own line,

followed by their own line of dancers until they come to the end of the set where they face each

other and then form the bridge (holding both hands uncrossed).

5. The other couples meet in turn and taking each other's inside hand they pass under the bridge.

6. Couples two, three, four and five now make a bridge, the girl of couple one passes under the

bridge and the boy dances down outside the line of boys, when they meet they change direction and the

boy passes under the bridge and the girl dances down outside the line of girls. When they meet they

take up their new positions at that end of the line.

7. Repeat section 1 to 6 until every couple has had a chance to become the leading couple.

Dear Dance interested

Please find attached the information on Copenhagen Capers and the Danish holiday (Workshop in Copenhagen on 22-25 May 2015 & Holiday in Denmark on 25-31 May 2015).

We have imported 3 super teachers from the US and Scotland and a fantastic band from the UK, so we are sure we will have a superb time again, especially if you are coming over.

We start on the Friday with registration, a buffet dinner and a welcome dance.

Saturday we have morning classes with our lovely teachers and Saturday afternoon is set aside to do something different - a trip out, perhaps on the canals. Watch this space for more information. We then have the Ceilidh in the evening.

Sunday we have morning classes, and some more dancing in the afternoon. The evening will involve a Gala dinner and Ball.

Monday morning we have our final class all together and early afternoon will be dedicated to discussion on various topics concerning SCD. Monday afternoon and evening is free time for those who stay on.

We will send out a more detail programme in due course.

Dear Dancing Friends,

We are happy to announce that our following Scottish Country Dancing Weekend is open for registration.
Our 9th weekend will be held on 24-26 April 2015 in Budapest, our teacher will be Janet Johnston and music will be provided by David Cunningham and his band.

We would be very happy to welcome you back in Budapest or if it is your first time we invite you to get to know our lovely country and our dancer better to have a taste of Hungarian hospitality!

We are also organizing a Tourist programme to the world famous wine regions to the North-East part of Hungary, which is a perfect possibility to have a deeper look into our culture and history with some gastronomical experiences.
